TPAS renew accreditation of our resident involvement
EastendHomes has always known the economic and social benefits of running a locally focused service in partnership with our residents, so we are delighted to have had our PRO Landlord Accreditation in Resident Involvement renewed for a third time by TPAS. We welcomed the extensive review by their assessors, including looking through our policies and practice, and interviews with both residents and staff. Successfully passing all twelve of the areas reviewed during the re-accreditation is a reflection of our commitment to partnership working with our residents.
Among the areas highlighted as good practice in the report was the "strong commitment of all staff" to support community activities, and it was noted that "staff being accessible locally, due to provision of local offices...supports resident involvement".
TPAS’ National Consultancy Manager Emma-Jane Flynn visited EEH on 11 September to formally present the award to the Board. Receiving the accreditation on behalf of the organisation, EastendHomes Chair Maureen McEleney said:
It’s a great pleasure to accept this award, in recognition of the hard work which has gone on to promote opportunities for residents to get involved with EastendHomes. We recognise and appreciate the valuable contribution which our residents have made to our successes and it is a priority for the Board to continue to keep our services local and accessible through our network of local housing centres.
Paul Bloss, EastendHomes Chief Executive, added:
It is very satisfying to see the hard work of both our residents and our staff recognised by TPAS. In particular, the feedback on the value of our local offices and the accessibility and commitment of our employees demonstrates that EastendHomes is an organisation that does more than pay ‘lip service’ to resident involvement but truly seeks ways to engage with and learn from our residents’ experiences.
TPAS is a national independent not-for-profit organisation specialising in tenant engagement, with a membership of both tenants and landlords.
