New Exec Director of Finance and Resources for East End Homes

East End Homes in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of a permanent Executive Director of Finance and Resources. Rhodri Morgan will take up his position with the locally based and community-led housing association in early September.
Rhodri joins from Platform Housing where he has been Director of Finance since 2021. Prior to Platform, he worked for Affinity Sutton / Clarion and Southern Housing Group. His immediate priority will be to support and guide colleagues in his capacity as East End Homes’ financial leader while the organisation undergoes a period of transformation.
Rhodri said: “I’m delighted to be joining East End Homes at this stage in its journey. In its 20-year history, East End Homes has established itself as a housing association that is truly led by the local community in Tower Hamlets. I’m looking forward to getting to know the local area and continuing the work to build a fiscally strong and resilient organisation for the benefit of residents, staff and stakeholders. With the improvement programme well under way, it’s an exciting time to join the organisation as a member of its dynamic leadership team.”
Jacqui Bateson, Chair of the East End Homes Board, said: “ With an excellent track record in driving strategic growth, business performance and transformation within the social housing sector, Rhodri has the full backing of the Board. It’s great to see the new leadership team taking shape at this time of transformation. His housing association experience will come to the fore in helping East End Homes to realise its ambitions. The Board and I wish him all the best in his new role.”
This year East End Homes is celebrating its 20th anniversary. In 2005 residents of five estates across Tower Hamlets voted for their homes and communities to be transferred to the newly established social landlord. Today, its 120-strong team manages over 3,900 homes with local offices in each neighbourhood. Since its governance rating was downgraded to G3 in 2023 by the Regulator of Social Housing, East End Homes has embarked upon a sustained improvement programme.
East End Homes’ new CEO, Daniel Killian, will also assume his role in September, at which point the Interim CEO, Yvonne Arrowsmith, who has been at the helm since November 2024, will step down.
