Visit the OITIJ-JO Collective Exhibition at Whitechapel Gallery This Summer

Paying tribute to the rich heritage and culture of the Bangladeshi community, OITIJ-JO Collective is presenting its exhibition TUFAN at the Whitechapel Gallery, running until 6 September 2026 .

OITIJ-JO Collective, a Bengali arts and heritage organisation based in East London, presents TUFAN , an exhibition inspired by the Bangla word for storm . The exhibition explores themes of sudden change, powerful energy, disruption and the possibility of renewal.

Inspired by Begum Rokeya , the pioneering author of the feminist science fiction story Sultana's Dream (1905), OITIJ-JO Collective explores TUFAN as a journey from turbulence to transformation, and from rupture to regeneration.

Don't miss this inspiring exhibition celebrating East London's Bangladeshi heritage and creativity.

Admission is free.
