Security and Vigilance in London

Following the tragic events in Paris last week, we have been asked by the Metropolitan Police Service to communicate the following key messages:

  • There will be a more visible Police presence in many parts of London. This is not in response to any specific intelligence relating to London. Officers and uniformed police staff will be out and about as part of London's community life. They welcome members of the community approaching them and will do their best to help reassure them.
  • If anyone spots anything unusual that they do not feel happy about then please report this to the police dialling 101 or the Anti-Terrorist Hotline on 0800 789 321. If it is urgen please dial 999.
  • Regretfully, experience suggests that hate crime can increase in difficult times and the Police ask that any hate crime is immediately reported. It will receive a fast response and be dealt with by specialist officers.
