Heating and Hot Water Update – West Glamis Estate
We would like to address the issue that affected some residents of West Glamis Estate last week, when several homes experienced a complete loss of heating and hot water. We would like to sincerely thank residents for their patience and understanding, and we recognise the significant inconvenience this situation may have caused.
The issue began on Friday 6 March. Following investigation, it was established that the loss of heating was caused by an electrical power surge from the UK Power Networks grid, which damaged the main heating pumps located in the estate’s boiler plant room.
On the evening of 6th of March, East End Homes deployed our specialist major plant contractors to investigate the issue. Repair works began between 7th and 8th of March, with our team working efficiently to restore the system, encountering several technical challenges along the way, including a faulty component that required the equipment to be reordered. The replacement pump was successfully installed and the boiler plant restored to full operation on the evening of 9th of March. Contractors remained on site until 1:00am to ensure that heating and hot water were circulating properly across the estate.
To ensure all services are now fully placed back into operation, our contractors also visited properties on Tuesday 10 March where residents had previously reported the problem.
If any residents are still experiencing problems with heating or hot water, please contact East End Homes Customer Services so that we can arrange for a contractor to attend. We remain committed to keeping our homes safe, comfortable, and fully functional, and our team will continue to respond promptly to any concerns.
Kind Regards,
East End Homes Team
