Financial Support and Advice for EEH Residents

With the cost of living rising it’s understandably a very difficult time for many people at the moment.

If you’re struggling to pay your rent or bills please know help is at hand.

Through our partnership with the Bromley by Bow Centre we can offer EastendHomes residents’ financial advice around:

  • Clearing, gas, electricity and water debts
  • Reducing utility bills
  • Checking and applying for additional benefits you may be entitled to
  • Applying for grants for white goods like fridges, cookers & washing machines.

Please contact your local EastendHomes housing centre or the Bromley by Bow Centre to make a reservation with a welfare advisor.

Our staff are on hand to support anyone having problems paying their rent or service charges. For information on referral to support services please get in touch by visiting one of our housing centres in person, or by calling on the telephone contacts. To discuss your rent account, you can call our Rents Team. They can also refer you to support services.

On 3 November Tower Hamlets Council announced £15million in benefits are going unclaimed by Tower Hamlets residents, with older people missing out on over £1.7m worth of Pension Credit and £700,000 of Disability Premium.

The council has launched a dedicated cost of living webpage to offer support and advice. There is also access to an online benefits checker which residents can use to find out what help they are entitled to.
