EastendHomes: Ten Years On

EastendHomes 10 logo April marks the tenth anniversary of the first transfer of homes into the management of EastendHomes, starting with the Mile End East estates in April 2005.

Since the transfer of all our estates from Tower Hamlets, EastendHomes has concentrated on fulfilling the promises it made. High quality, localised services have been developed, and our local offices on our estates provide a presence on the ground to respond to the needs of local communities.

So far, EastendHomes has invested over £135m in the improvement and regeneration of our estates and in building affordable homes for local residents. We aim to complete all our estate regeneration programmes by 2018 with the overall intended investment programme at around £145m.

Since 2005, we have:

• rehoused 98 overcrowded families through our over-crowding reduction initiative

• developed 281 homes for social rent

• provided 29 privately rented homes

• and facilitated the provision of 800 homes available for sale

Alongside the refurbishment of our properties and creating more affordable homes, EastendHomes is dedicated to developing community centres on all of its estates. Not only do these centres create a meeting hub for the community, they also help to attract partners and various activities that help to meet the social needs of the community.
