How do you create a menopause-friendly workplace?

EastendHomes has featured in a recent case study by the Centre for Ageing Better along with other organisations who are working to create a menopause-friendly workplace.

The case study was launched on the 18 October World Menopause Day which aims to raise awareness of the menopause and the support options available for improving health and wellbeing.

Surveys show that three in five menopausal women are negatively affected at work and that nearly one million women in the UK left their jobs because of menopausal symptoms.

Annette Ralph, EastendHomes Head of Human Resources said:

EastendHomes signed up to the Age-friendly Employer Pledge in November last year. Through consultation with staff menopause awareness and support was identified as a key area for us to focus on. It just makes good business sense to listen  and learn  and make everyone aware of the issues involve. We’ve found a menopause-friendly workplace has so many benefits for all staff while retaining the talent and  experience of some of our most  committed housing professionals. It’s a win- win.
