My Great Journey screens at Southern Grove
Mile End Community Project recently screened their latest film at Southern Grove Community Centre to the toughest of film critics, their local community.
‘My Great Journey’ captures the migration story of first generation immigrants who moved to Tower Hamlets in the 1950s. This short film gives compelling and inspiring insight into the elders’ experiences and their resilient attitudes. As well as highlighting the challenges they faced, the film teaches us about the many acts of kindness they received from their community that helped to make Tower Hamlets feel like home. Following the positive feedback from the screenings and in particular the young people MCP are interested in developing the film into an intergenerational education package. EastendHomes is proud to support this innovative community based organisation.
