British Street Community Centre to be renamed after Bernie Cameron
Back in April, residents, local councillors friends, family and EastendHomes staff met to share their warm memories of Bernie Cameron.
At our event we honored the amazing contribution Bernie made to Tower Hamlets. Councillor Rachael Saunders spoke about the support Bernie gave her when she was starting out as a ward councillor. Such was Bernie’s impact, residents asked if the community centre at British Street estate could be renamed after Bernie to recognise the massive contribution that he had made to improving the lives of residents, young and old.
The Board of EastendHomes has agreed to this suggestion, and the Mile End Estate Management Board will be agreeing the final name for the centre.
