Helping Us To Keep Your Estates Clean - Estate Action Days
last modified
25/01/2011 12:00 PM
Saturday 22 January saw the latest action day which concentrated on Herbert House & Jacobson House on Holland Estate.
Previous action days have taken place on Glamis Estate (Gordon House) and Mile End (British Street low rise blocks).
Further events are being planned for various blocks on St Georges Estate and Island Gardens in the near future.
The purpose of the day was to knock on all residents doors to remind them of their responsibilities and obligations on-
·
Disposal of household rubbish
·
Recycling facilities
·
How to arrange for collection of unwanted items i.e. beds etc
·
The importance of keeping balconies clear.
EastendHomes Bulk Refuse vehicle is also on hand to collect unwanted household items free of charge (on action days only).
The importance of keeping the communal landings clear of obstruction (to comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005) was explained to residents and the picture shows the amount that was removed on Saturday, predominantly from communal landings – ranging from a microwave to pieces of wood and tins of paint.
We identify blocks for Action Days from the information supplied by our Caretakers and from our 8 weekly Estate Inspections – if you feel the block you live in would benefit from such a day please let us know!!
